Contractor was a student who'd spent a year in university was invited to audition during an open call for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadawhich she won the part. The play received rave reviews and her performance during the 92 performances that the play was voted as the best production by Canadian reviewers in 2002. The conservatory in Stratford takes eight people with four females, and a handful of additional people to take a 20 week crash course. Her place was guaranteed in the next play as she was offered the character for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
